Mid-Century Modern Brass and Horn Table Ashtray, Italy, 1974

Four 1960s lounge chairs in the style of Eero Saarinen, an excellent example of modernist design characterized by a mix of curved lines and structural minimalism.
The shell is entirely covered in black faux leather or imitation leather with a smooth, taut appearance. The shape is enveloping, with a backrest that curves slightly backward and armrests that blend gently with the backrest, creating a shell shape. The lines are clean and organic.
The armchair rests on four slender, tapered legs in dark metal. The legs are positioned at a slight angle, giving the piece a feeling of lightness and upward momentum, typical of the aesthetics of the era. The tips of the legs end with feet.

La scocca è interamente rivestita in ecopelle o similpelle nera con un aspetto liscio e teso. La forma è avvolgente, con uno schienale che si incurva leggermente all’indietro e braccioli che si fondono dolcemente con lo schienale, creando una forma a conchiglia. Le linee sono pulite e organiche.
La poltroncina poggia su quattro gambe sottili e affusolate in metallo scuro. Le gambe sono posizionate con una leggera angolazione, conferendo al pezzo una sensazione di leggerezza e slancio verso l’alto, tipica dell’estetica dell’epoca. Le punte delle gambe terminano con dei piedini.
