JASMINE PIGNATELLI, artista | nasce nel 1968 a Toronto (Canada). Vive e lavora tra Bari e Roma. Dopo gli studi artistici e la laurea in architettura a Milano, sceglie come campo privilegiato del suo agire artistico la scultura. Geometria Concettuale e Arte Relazionale sono le principali linee guida della sua ricerca. Nelle opere di Jasmine Pignatelli l’indagine sulle relazioni tra spazio, tempo, segno e movimento è sempre connessa a intenti emotivi e umanistici alla ricerca di una dimensione poetica ed emozionale della geometria che superi il dato puramente concettuale per comunicare passione civile, sentimento, umanità. Le ultime ricerche avanzano riflessioni intorno ai sistemi di relazione sociale, traducendoli in forme, elementi modulari che si fanno segno artistico: geometria che ambisce ad essere sociale e non solo estetica e che indaga lo spazio in nome di una geometria umanistica.

JASMINE PIGNATELLI, artist | was born in 1968 in Toronto, Canada. She lives and works between Bari and Rome. After art studies and a degree in architecture in Milan, she chooses sculpture as the privileged field of her artistic action. Conceptual Geometry and Relational Art are the main guidelines of her research. In Jasmine Pignatelli’s works, the investigation of the relationships between space, time, sign and movement is always connected to emotional and humanistic intentions in the search for a poetic and emotional dimension of geometry that goes beyond the purely conceptual datum to communicate civil passion, feeling and humanity. The latest research advances reflections around systems of social relations, translating them into forms, modular elements that become an artistic sign: geometry that aspires to be social and not just aesthetic and that investigates space in the name of a humanistic geometry.

Jasmine Pignatelli, has made works with a strong civic and social character, the result of her research around a Humanistic Geometry. In this sphere of reflections she realizes between 2019 and 2021 the double public work in Bari and Durazzo Sono Persone 8.8.1991 dedicated to the friendship and welcoming spirit of the people of Bari demonstrated toward the 20,000 Albanian refugees who arrived with the ship Vlora in ’91. This is followed by Heimat | Sharing the Land at the Musma in Matera (2019) and at the Castello di Barletta (2020) a complex experiential work built around a new concept of Homeland. In 2020 he measures himself against the fragility of ecosystems with the permanent installation A Broken Line for Buonanotte Contemporanea in Montebello sul Sangro (CH), a work selected for the 17th. Venice Architecture Biennale, Italian Pavilion. In Rome in 2021 for the 40th anniversary of the Alfredo Rampi Center he produces 8-piece sculptures dedicated to Alfredino accompanied by a sound performance, a morse transmission, at the Auditorium della Conciliazione. In 2023, he creates the public work Radici e Ali dedicated to Alessandro Leogrande for the facade of the PACT Regione Puglia. In 2024, he received from the City of Bari the “Nicolino d’oro,” the award that recognizes Bari’s excellence. With the project Pianura Liquida, he is present at the 19th. Venice Architecture Biennale, Italian Pavilion.

Jasmine Pignatelli, ha realizzato lavori dal forte carattere civico e sociale, frutto di una sua ricerca intorno ad una Geometria Umanistica. In questo ambito di riflessioni realizza tra il 2019 e 2021 la doppia opera pubblica a Bari e Durazzo Sono Persone 8.8.1991 dedicata all’amicizia e allo spirito di accoglienza dei baresi dimostrata verso i 20.000 profughi albanesi arrivati con la nave Vlora nel ‘91. Segue Heimat | Sharing the Land al Musma di Matera (2019) e al Castello di Barletta (2020) una complessa opera esperienziale che si costruisce intorno ad un nuovo concetto di Patria. Nel 2020 si misura con la fragilità degli ecosistemi con l’installazione permanente A Broken Line per Buonanotte Contemporanea a Montebello sul Sangro (CH), opera selezionata alla 17. Biennale di Architettura di Venezia, Padiglione Italia. A Roma nel 2021 per il quarantennale del Centro Alfredo Rampi produce sculture in 8 esemplari dedicate ad Alfredino accompagnate da una performance sonora, una trasmissione morse, presso l’Auditorium della Conciliazione. Nel 2023 realizza per la facciata del PACT Regione Puglia l’opera pubblica Radici e Ali dedicata a Alessandro Leogrande. Nel 2024, riceve dalla Città di Bari il “Nicolino d’oro”, il premio che riconosce le eccellenze baresi. Con il progetto Pianura Liquida è presente alla 19. Biennale di Architettura di Venezia, Padiglione Italia.
